Julija Hartig

Julija Hartig was born in Yugoslavia and received her first violin lessons at the age of 5. As a young talent she won several awards.

After her education at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Yugoslavia), she was appointed as an assistant to her former teacher EA Chugaeva at the same conservatory.

Since 1994 Julija has lived in the Netherlands where she continued her education at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Ilya Grubert and graduated cum laude from the Utrecht Conservatory with Keiko Wataya.

Julija has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, such as the Radio Chamber Philharmonic, the Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra and the St. Georges Strings. Julija is a first violinist with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and is a member of several chamber music ensembles, including the Duo Hartig-Broekhans, The Hungry Gods, ROctet and Ensemble Rei. She is one of the musicians of SPLENDOR and co-founder of the collective LUDWIG.

Julija Hartig plays a violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, which was made available to her by the National Musical Instruments Fund.

Julija is a first violinist at the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of several chamber music ensembles.
