During the premiere evening of the Double Bliss concert, Roctet will play the impressive Octet for Strings in C Major by George Enescu (1881\u20131955).<\/strong><\/div>\n
Roctet, the first permanent string octet in the Netherlands since 2016, has quickly earned a place in the chamber music world with fiery and refined performances at home and abroad. Their new album Changes was recently released, on which this masterful octet by Enescu can also be heard.<\/div>\n
Enescu's octet, written at eighteen, is a powerful work that fuses Romanian lyricism, French elegance and Viennese structure. A through-composed sonata form unfolds in four movements, ending in a stirring waltz full of thematic reprises.<\/div>\n
